Common questions

How do I invite a sibling who isn't on the app?

Open your circle → tap the members row → Invite member. You can share an invite link by text, email, or any share-sheet target. They follow the link and either install the app or RSVP a single visit through the web — no install required.

Can I have more than one circle?

Yes. Some families use one circle per parent. Others use one for grandma and a separate one for a great-aunt. There is no limit.

Does my relative need to install the app?

No. Family Visits is for the family doing the visiting, not the person being visited. We never message your relative.

How do I turn off arrival pings?

Open the app → YouPrivacyArrival pings. Switch off. You can also revoke location permission entirely in iOS Settings → Family Visits → Location.

Can I sync visits with Google Calendar?

Yes — two-way. Settings → ConnectionsGoogle Calendar. Sign in with the Google account that owns the calendar. Visits you add to Family Visits appear in Google Calendar, and any new event you add in Google Calendar shows up in your circle.

What is Memorial Mode?

When a relative passes away, you can archive the circle into Memorial Mode. The circle stops accepting new visits, reminders go quiet, and the photo feed becomes a place to revisit rather than to add to. Every visit, photo, comment, and note is preserved forever. Only the circle's owner can switch into Memorial Mode, and there is no countdown or "are you sure" — it's a gentle pause, available when you're ready.

How do I delete my account?

Open the app → YouPrivacyDelete my account. The app walks you through what's removed and what stays. If you can't sign in, email privacy@familyvisits.app from the address on the account and we'll do it for you within 30 days.

Why aren't notifications using my sibling's name?

Reminders use the visitor's display name as they appear in your circle. Open your circle's members list, tap your sibling's row, and update Display name if it's wrong.

Why is the app showing in English even though my phone is Spanish?

iOS picks the app language from your phone's language list. Make sure Spanish is in your iOS Language & Region list at the top. Force-quit and reopen Family Visits — it should switch to Spanish on next launch.

Does Family Visits work on iPad?

Yes. The same app, with a wider layout for circle coordination side-by-side with the photo feed.

Does Family Visits work on Android?

Not yet. We're iOS-first for v1.

Does it cost anything?

Family Visits is free. No subscription. No paywalled calendar. We are not running an ad business.
